The Affliction Of Poverty
"Behold I have refined you, but not as silver; I have chosen for you the crucible of poverty" (Isaiah 48:10).

"This teaches that God considered all the good attributes that He might bestow upon Israel and found nothing better for them than the affliction of poverty" (Chagigah 9b). "There is a widespread perception that Jews are rich, but while some, particularly among the non-observant, may be extremely wealthy, the lot of many striving to keep the Torah both in the past and until today has been to have to struggle with the challenges of extremely limited resources" (Rabbi Avraham Greenbaum).

"When a person refines silver he removes all the dross, leaving only pure silver, but I have not done this, because if I did, very few would remain. Instead I afflict the wicked - who are the dross - with illnesses or captivity or through the loss of their children or the fruits of their cattle and their land etc. so as not to cut them off completely" (RaDaK).

"If only you had hearkened to My commandments, your peace would have been as a river and your righteousness as the waves of the sea; your seed would be as the sand and the offspring of your belly like the fish of the sea." (Isaiah 48:17-19, 32:17-18, Deut. 6:24-25). God will in any event redeem Israel, but we could enable it to come about with so much less pain if we will heed the voice of His Torah!

”Jews persecuted in Europe because of their "great love of money:"  PA TV history program  (PA TV (Fatah), Oct. 10 and 17, 2010), by Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook (Palestinian Media Watch). A history program on official Palestinian Authority television has repeated an odious PA distortion of history. PA TV is controlled by the office of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Jordanian academic Muhammad Dohal: "The Jews are hated in every society in which they have lived, because of their behavior relating to their great love of money."

Why Do People Hate The Jews? "We hate Jews because they possess too much wealth and power." The Jews of 17th- 20th century Poland and Russia were dirt poor, had no influence and yet they were hated.

'Corruption will let Hamas take W. Bank': Fahmi Shabaneh: "It will happen one day if the state of corruption and anarchy continue in the West Bank . "Why do you think Hamas kicked us out of the Gaza Strip? Because the people there were fed up with the corruption and bad government of Fatah. Asked whether he believed outside donors should stop channeling funds to Abbas, he said his advice to the donor countries "is to follow up on their donations to examine how and where the money is being spent (Khaled Abu Toameh, JPost,).

Obama: US to Pour $400 Million into PA (terrorist state): (INN, 06/10/10) The President also mentioned, once, the need for “more progress on both security as well as incitement issues” – to which Abbas responded, “I say in front of you, Mr. President, that we have nothing to do with incitement against Israel, and we’re not doing that.” US Gives PA Additional $150 million (INN, Nov/10/10). Financing their continued Jewhatred and Nazi / Islamic incitement against the Jewish people.

Norway Funding PA Hate Media:  Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) has issued a report focusing on Norway's funding of the PA in light of recent statements made by Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store. Gahr Store defended Norway's decision to fund the PA directly, including PA media, saying TV programs glorifying terrorists are not common and assuring reporters that “Fatah and the PA are prepared to find a peaceful solution to the conflict with Israel.”

Calls in Norway to Freeze Aid to PA: The Norwegian Foreign Minister, who says he does not plan to freeze the payments and thinks there is no reason to demand greater control over their use.  The narrator says, "The Foreign Minister thinks it is currently not possible that Norwegian aid money goes to such TV productions." The FM himself explains that his country simply follows the same procedures as other donor countries.  All the while, the scenes from the inciteful PA children's program are shown in the background, and the item ends with the PA's Mickey Mouse saying, "We will win, Bush!  We will win, Sharon! Ah, Sharon is dead..."

Israel: Norway inciting against us: Foreign Ministry says Norwegian authorities funding anti-Israel film, exhibition, and play. Norway: We support freedom of expression. Serious diplomatic conflict: Israel is accusing the Norwegian government of funding and encouraging blatant anti-Israel incitement.

According to reports received by the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, the Trondheim Municipality is funding a trip to New York for students taking part in the "Gaza Monologues" play, which "deals with the suffering of children in Gaza as a result of the Israeli occupation." The play, written by a Palestinian from Gaza, will be presented at the United Nations headquarters.

It joins an exhibition by a Norwegian artists displayed in Damascus, Beirut, and Amman, with the help of Norway's embassies in
Syria , Lebanon , and Jordan .The exhibition shows killed Palestinian babies next to Israel Defense Forces helmets, which are reminiscent of Nazi soldiers' helmets, and an Israeli flag drenched in blood.

The Norwegians are also helping the distribution of a documentary film called "Tears of Gaza" to festivals across the world. According to the Foreign Ministry, the film deals with the suffering of Gaza's children as well, without mentioning Hamas, the rockets fired at Israel, and Israel's right to defend itself.

Upgrade of Palestinian representation in Norway: Norwegian officials relayed the decision on Wednesday that the status of the Palestinian diplomatic representative would be upgraded from a “General Delegation” to that of a “Diplomatic Mission” headed by an ambassador. The decision was announced to the Palestinian Authority Cabinet the same afternoon, where officials welcomed the move, saying it represented Norwegian "support for building the institutions of an independent Palestinian State."

Cabinet members called on more nations of the world to make similar steps. In October, Portugal upgraded Palestinian diplomatic representation in the country from an office to a mission, three days after the nation was elected to the UN Security Council, beating out Canada, which was criticized for its out of step policy toward the Mideast. The move followed similar upgrades in diplomatic status for Palestinian representatives in both the United States and France, who made the changes in June (Maan News, 11/11/2010).

Abbas talks peace process at Arafat memorial: "Palestinians will not accept Israel's construction of settlements on occupied Palestinian land,.." "We don't want settlements on our land for they are illegitimate from the beginning. We all are sure that Jerusalem is the Palestinians' capital and the refugees will return," he said. He added that there will be no final peace deal until all Palestinians (terrorists) imprisoned by Israel are released.

The PA wants the world and the pal-Arabs to believe that they are the original inhabitants of the land so that they can claim "their inheritance."

Rewriting the history of the Land of Israel  in order to deny Israel's right to exist is central to Palestinian Authority (PA) policy. Long before it started the Terror War in 2000, the PA was fighting a history war – erasing Jewish history and replacing it with a fabricated Palestinian history:

Dr. Yunes Amr, President of the Al-Quds Open University: “The Palestinians are Arab Canaanites " (Al-Ayyam, Apr. 7, 2009). PA TV: "The Canaanites were Arabs, Israelis must go " (Palestinian TV (Fatah), Dec. 20, 2005).
Canaanite "forefathers of Palestinians" built the Temple  (Palestinian TV (Fatah), Aug. 2, 2004).

"If the "Palestinians" are the original inhabitants of the land, since they now claim to be the original "Canaanites", they cannot possibly be descendants of Avraham, ergo, not people of the Book, since the Canaanites were in the land before the time of Avraham" (Daniel Doron).

When I was in Jerusalem during Sukkot, I had a pal-Arab guide. He said he was a descendant of the Canaanites, the original inhabitants of the land. And he asked me, ”Don’t you think it is rudely by the Jews to come here and steal our land, just because king David was here 3000 years ago?

But when I confronted him with this - that he was a son of Abraham, and the Canaanites were in the land before the time of Abraham, and that God had promised Abraham, Isaak and Yaakov the land of the Canaanites - he immediately understood.
He cried in dispair: "I am not a Canaanite, I am not a Canaanite! I am a son of Abraham, I am a son of Abraham! This is Arafat teaching, this is Arafat teaching! Why do they teach our children this!"

Is it right to continue the funding of Nazi/Islamic, racist PA  lies, and incitement to Jewhatred at the cost of all the poor Jews and Arabs in Israel?

Poverty Report: 123,500 join Israel's poor: National Insurance Institute reveals 15,000 families – mostly haredi and Arab – became part of circle of poverty in 2009. A total of 850,300 children live under the poverty line, the report said, and almost two of five children in Israel disadvantaged. Social resilience survey reveals 28% of Israelis think their economic situation is 'very bad.' According to the data, some 15,000 families – mostly large Arab and ultra-Orthodox families – joined the circle of poverty in 2009. In total, Israel has 435,000 poor families (YnetNews, 11/08/10).

Job 36:5-15 "Behold God is great (in wisdom and in mercy) and will not despise (the poor man); He is great in strength of heart. He does not preserve the life of the wicked, but He gives the poor their right. He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous, and with kings on the throne He seats them to eternity and they are exalted.

And if they are bound with chains, are caught with ropes of poverty,.." It is only because they sinned before Him, and He comes to requite them for their own good, to cleanse them and to admonish them to return to Him. "He tells them their deed and their transgressions, for they increase." With these sufferings, He lets them know that they sinned before Him. I.e., do not worry about the sufferings if you are righteous, because they are for your good, and He says that with sufferings, they will repent of iniquity.

"He opens their ears to discipline and commands that they repent of iniquity. If they understand and worship [Him], they will complete their days with goodness and their years with pleasantness. And if they do not take heed, they will pass away by the sword and perish because of lack of knowledge.

"But the wicked of heart bring about wrath; they do not beg mercy when He binds them." When suffering comes upon them, they curse and blaspheme, and they do not beg mercy with supplication when He binds them with sufferings; therefore He does not heal them. "Their soul shall die by strangulation, and their living spirit among the profligate."

"He extricates a poor man in his poverty and opens their ear through oppression." Through the oppression that He brought upon him, He opens his ear to say, “Return to Me.”  Psalm 40:7 "You desired neither sacrifice nor meal offering; You dug ears for me; a burnt offering or a sin offering You did not request."You made them hollow, enabling me (David / Israel) to hear Your voice.

1 Kings 8:46-51 "
If they sin against You, for (there is) no man who does not sin, and You will be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy,.. And they (the exiles) shall bethink themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of their captors, saying, 'We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness.'

And they shall return to You with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, who led them away captive, and pray to You toward their land, which You gave to their fathers, the city that You have chosen,.. And you shall hear their prayer and their supplication in heaven, Your dwelling place, and maintain their cause. And forgive Your people what they have sinned against You, and all their transgressions that they have transgressed against You, and give mercy before their captors, that they may have mercy on them.

For they are Your people, and Your inheritance, whom You have taken out of Egypt, from within the smelting furnace of iron.
" The oppression the Israelites suffered in Egypt is likened  to a furnace in which metal is purified. Isaiah 48:10 "Behold I have refined you, but not as silver; I have chosen for you the crucible of poverty."

Job 25:4 "
How then can man be just with God, and how can one born of woman be clean (pure)?" Job 23:10-12 "Because He knows the way that is with me; He has tested me that I will emerge like gold. My foot has held to His path; I have kept His way and do not turn away. [I kept] the commandment of His lips and I do not remove [it]; more than my daily bread I kept the words of His mouth." MK Katz: If Netanyahu Declares a New Freeze We’ll Overthrow Him: Katz's office said in a statement that should Netanyahu change his mind and announce a decision to implement a new construction freeze, Katz and his coalition partners will work shoulder to shoulder to overthrow Netanyahu and replace him with a suitable leader from within the Likud party.

Netanyahu met on Thursday in New York with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in an attempt to overcome the differences between the U.S. and Israel on the question of a new construction freeze, following demands by the U.S. to continue the freeze in Judea, Samaria, and even in certain parts of Jerusalem.

Nationalist Rage Against Shas Over Freeze: Sephardic-hareidi politicians said they would abstain in a vote on extending the anti-Jewish building freeze in Judea and Samaria...

Isaiah 17:12-14 "Woe to a multitude of many peoples, like the roaring of seas they roar; and a rushing of nations, like the rushing of mighty waters they rush. Nations, like the rushing of many waters, they rush, and He shall rebuke them, and he shall flee from afar, and he shall be pursued like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like the thistle blossoms before the tempest. At eventide, behold there is fright; before morning he is no more. This is the portion of our plunderers and the lot of our spoilers." (Edom, Ishmael and their allies).

Isaiah 41:25 ”I have aroused from the north and he came; from the rising of the sun he shall call in My name. And he shall come [upon] princes like mortar and as the potter treads clay.” (Isaiah 41:8-16, Daniel 2:31-35,40-44, Psalm 83). This prophecy may apply to the future redemption, when the Ten Tribes who were originally exiled to lands to the north east of Israel - will return.

Netanyahu Presents US Demand for 3-Month Freeze:The Palestinian Authority has repeatedly demanded that Israel freeze all construction for the 320,000 Jews of Judea and Samaria, as well as for the 300,000 Jews of northern and eastern Jerusalem. In fact, a year ago, Israel froze all construction for ten months, in the hopes that the PA would agree to negotiate with Israel. The PA refused to do so for nine months, but in September, as the freeze was winding down, abruptly agreed to negotiate - but only on condition that Israel extend the freeze.

"My wrath is kindled against the shepherds, and I will visit upon the goats, for the Lord of Hosts has remembered His flock, the house of Judah, and He has made it as His majestic horse in battle. Out of them shall come the cornerstone; out of them, the stake; out of them, the bow of war. Out of them shall come every oppressor together (kings, princes, warriors  and leaders).

And they shall be like mighty men, treading the mire of the streets in battle. And they shall wage war, for the Lord is with them. And they shall shame the riders of horses. And I will strengthen the house of Judah (in the war against Edom), and the house of Joseph I will save. And I will cause them to settle, for I have bestowed mercy upon them. And they shall be as though I had not forsaken them, for I am the Lord their God, and I will answer them.

And Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as if [with] wine. And their children shall see and rejoice; their heart shall be joyful with the Lord. I will whistle to them, and I will gather them, for I have redeemed them. And they shall multiply as they multiplied. And I will sow them among the peoples, and in the distant places they shall remember Me. And they shall live with their children and return" (Zechariah 10:3-9).

"But I will hope in the Lord; I will wait
for the God of my salvation; my God shall hearken to me. Rejoice not against me, my enemy (Rome); although I have fallen, I will rise; although I will sit in darkness, the Lord is a light to me. I will bear the fury of the Lord-for I have sinned against Him-until He pleads my cause and executes justice for me. He shall take me out into the light; I will see His righteousness.

And my enemy shall see, and shame shall cover her who says to

me, "Where is the Lord your God?" My eyes shall gaze upon her: now she shall become trodden as the mire of the streets" (Michah 7:10). "Through God we shall gather might, and He will trample our adversaries" (Psalm 60:14).

"For He humbled the inhabitants of the high places, the fortified city (Rome and Italy); He brings it low, he brings it low even to the earth, he makes it reach even to the dust. A foot shall trample it, the feet of a poor man (The Mashiach, who is referred to as a poor man riding on a donkey, i.e., The Tribes; Zech. 9:9, Genesis 49:8-12), the soles of the impoverished" (this is Israel).

On that day, this song shall be sung in the land of Judah: "The city that was our strength-salvation shall He place [for] walls and a bulwark. Open the gates, so that a righteous nation, awaiting the realization [of God's promise], may enter. The creature that relied, You shall guard, [that there be] peace, peace, for they trusted in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for in Yah the Lord, is the Rock of eternity" (Isaiah 26:5-6,1-4, see also 25:6-9).

The prophets Isaiah (41:17) and Amos (8:11-12) prophesies about the end of days, when there will be 'not a hunger for bread nor a thirst for water but to hear the word of HaShem.
