Ramallah Gets Five-Star Luxury Hotel:
The city of Ramallah, less than half an hour north of Jerusalem, saw the opening this week of its first five-star luxury hotel, despite Palestinian Authority claims that Israel is strangling the local economy. The hotel, a franchise of the Swiss-based Movenpick chain, has 171 rooms and suites, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center, and cost $40 million. The opening was not entirely perfect, as the hotel is not yet set up to provide ice cream. Co-owner Talal Nasreddin spoke to the French news agency AFP and blamed the lack of ice cream on “Israeli procedures at the crossings.” Israel inspects goods imported to Judea and Samaria in order to prevent arms smuggling.
"The main restaurant has an Italian chef and a downstairs cigar bar that will serve up 20-year aged whiskeys. A string of chic new bars and restaurants have already turned the town into an easy-going Palestinian approximation of Tel Aviv, the transformation underpinned by the $4 billion in foreign aid the Palestinian Authority has received since 2007" (AFP, Yahoo! News, Sun Oct 31).
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has taken as strong stand for an "economic peace," meaning that a strong PA economy would make peace possible.
PA's Erekat: No Jews Allowed In Palestinian State - PA Need Not Hurry, Israel Keeps Offering More:
Palestinian Authority (PA) senior official and head of its negotiations department, Saeb Erekat, has said in a detailed interview with an Arabic newspaper that no Jews should be permitted to stay in a Palestinian state, that Palestinians have an “absolute right” to the eastern half of Jerusalem and that, as Israel’s negotiating positions have weakened and been concessionary over the years, the Palestinians should agree to nothing now and allow Israel to concede still more.
ZOA National President Morton A. Klein said, “Saeb Erekat has demonstrated in detail that the PA remains opposed to Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. He has provided further proof –though none is needed – to show that the PA demand that Judea, Samaria and eastern Jerusalem become judenrein is official Palestinian policy. Conversely, he has shown that the PA’s Salaam Fayyad’s recent words in English to an American audience which implied that Jews would be allowed to live in a future Palestinian state were fraudulent.
“If Palestinians cannot accept a Jewish presence in a future Palestinian state, then that fact itself is indication enough that they are not prepared to live in peace with Israel. Who is prepared to argue that a people that resolutely insists on throwing all Jews out of their country, that criminalizes the sale of land to Jews and that lynches those deemed guilty of “collaborating” with Israel by having sold land to Jews is actually ready to live in peace alongside the Jewish state of Israel?
“Erekat also shows that the PA is accustomed to getting Israeli concessions over time without having to give anything in return. His candid words on this subject underscore the great harm Israel has done itself by pursuing a course of concessions –especially unilateral ones – with the Palestinians before demanding that they adhere to their own signed commitments under the Oslo agreements and the 2003 Roadmap peace plan to arrest terrorists, outlaw terrorist groups and end the incitement to hatred and murder in their controlled media, mosques, schools and youth camps that feed terrorism.
“In all other respects – demanding a so-called ‘right of return’ for Palestinian refugees of the 1948 war and their millions of descendants; demanding that the heart of the Jewish people and Judaism – Jerusalem – be torn out and given to a Palestinian regime that has never ruled the city or had its own capital there; pretending that Iran poses no threat to Israel, the region or the united States even giving voice to the incendiary falsehood that Israel murdered Yasser Arafat – Erekat provides several indications of the continuing Palestinian refusal to accept Israel as a Jewish state and to seek pretexts and strategies to vilify her.”

Luxury Palestinian mall signals transformation of 'terror capital': 'Many in West Bank have money but nowhere to spend it if they're after quality,' says entrepreneur. The next city to enjoy a Hirbawi Home Center is Ramallah, where one is already in partial operation; then Hebron, Tul Karem and Nablus (Haaretz, 21.06.09).
Abbas: No Jews will be allowed in Palestine: The PA chairman revealed, as he announced clearly that if a Palestinian Authority state is created in Judea and Samaria, no Israeli citizen will be allowed to set foot inside. The PA chairman also stated that he would block any Jewish soldiers from serving with an international force stationed on PA-controlled land.
"I will never allow a single Israeli to live among us on Palestinian land,” Abbas declared. Israel is home to a sizable proportion of Arab citizens, who have the vote and are represented by Arab parties in the Knesset. (Arab League Tries to Score Points for Abbas, 'Endorses' Talks, INN, 07/29/10).
Palestine Aid Models Must Change
The Palestinians are one of the world's largest beneficiaries of foreign aid, receiving over $3 billion annually (not including the budget of UNRWA itself). In 2009, over 60% of Palestine's gross national income, and almost 100% of government expenditure, came from aid. PA budgets allocate ten times more money to security than to agriculture. The Palestinians' NGO sector has become a byword for corruption, incompetence and meaningless job creation. Thousands of NGOs have sprung up, bloating the aid industry without delivering long-term benefits.
Naseef Mu'allem, director-general of the Palestinian Center for Peace and Democracy, revealed that "JICA - the Japanese government aid mission - invested $5 million last year, but practically what they spent is $600,000. The rest is given as salaries, accommodation, hotels...and transportation for the foreign employees here but not for the Palestinians" (Guardian-UK).
Bargain Prices for 'Zionist' Clothes in New Gaza Luxury Mall:
While Hamas continues to complain that Gaza lacks building materials, a luxury mall in Gaza City held its grand opening. Among the goods on sale are Israeli men's clothing, and items from Turkey, France, and the US, Despite the bargain prices, Israelis are advised that it is forbidden to enter Gaza (INN, 07/19/10).
New Mall Planned for Gaza:
Hamas has announced that a new mall will be built in the Gaza Strip. Yusuf Mansi, Minister of Housing and Public Works of the Hamas government in the Gaza Strip, told Gaza-based news agency Safa on Thursday that his office is currently on a plan to build a new mall. The 44-acre mall will be located in Gaza City and will be the largest shopping center in the Strip, said Mansi.
Also, the Hamas government is examining the possibility of building residential buildings to help cope with the population growth in the Strip. An estimated 120 thousand new housing units would be required. Gaza is a place of stark contrasts: the rich, the smugglers and the Hamas-connected residents are doing well, while the poor and professed Fatah supporters live in deprivation and fear.
Areas are being rented for purposes such as agricultural projects and raising sheep, in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
If Israel will follow the path of repentance, God will punish their wicked neighbors.
"For Gaza shall be forsaken,.. And the sea-coast shall be pastures, even meadows for shepherds, and folds for flocks. And it shall be a portion for the remnant of the house of Judah, whereon they shall feed; in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening; for the LORD their God will remember them, and turn their captivity."
In the case of the socalled Palestinians, the verse says that it will take place "in the evening" on the day of God's wrath. Similarly, the future redemption from the hordes of Gog and Magog is described as taking place "towards the evening" (Zechariah 14:7) "Violence (Heb: HAMAS) shall no more be heard in thy land, desolation nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise" (Isaiah 60:18).
Netanyahu: Economics, not politics, is the key to peace: Instead of talking about contentious issues such as the status of Jerusalem, the first step to a lasting peace needs to be the fostering of the Palestinians' economic situation, he said. "We must weave an economic peace alongside a political process," Netanyahu said. "That means that we have to strengthen the moderate parts of the Palestinian economy by handing rapid growth in those area, rapid economic growth that gives a stake for peace for the ordinary Palestinians" (Haaretz, 20.11.08).
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and the Israeli Government have bolstered the PA economy at the sacrifice of impoverished and needy Jewish inhabitants in the towns of Judea and Shomron (Samaria), living under an enforced building freeze.
Report to Knesset Lobby: Building Still Frozen in Most of Yesha:
The Knesset's Land of Israel lobby convened yesterday to mark a month since the official end of the construction freeze in Yesha. Danny Dayan, Secretary-General of the Yesha Council of Jewish Communities in Judea and Samaria told the assembled Knesset Members from various parties: "Despite the official announcements, the freeze is continuing for 80 percent of the population of Judea and Samaria. Not one house has been approved for urban construction in areas where more than 80 percent of the population lives."
Statistics gathered by the Yesha Council show that Defense Minister Ehud Barak, whose signature is required on all new construction in Judea and Samaria, is holding up the construction of over 4,000 new units that have already been approved by the Housing Ministry. These include 503 in Ariel, nearly 1,000 in Beitar Illit, 213 in Maaleh Adumim, 134 in Adam just outside Jerusalem, and 438 in Karnei Shomron.
Netanyahu Gave the Order and Barak Complied
: Some MKs, such as Tzipi Hotovely of the Likud, stated that Barak should be stripped of his responsibilities to approve construction. In response, National Union party head MK Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh) said, "Everyone keeps talking about Barak, but he is not the boss. All complaints are to be directed to one person and one person alone: Binyamin Netanyahu. He's the one who makes the final decisions. When he wanted to plant saplings on Tu B'Shvat in Gush Etzion, Chanan Porat told him that he was not invited unless 40 housing units received approval – and Barak approved them the same day."
Fatah Decides: No Recognition of Israel as Jewish State:
The faction that is led by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and which leads the PA has officially declared its refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish State. The Fatah Revolutionary Council voted to “affirm its rejection of the so-called Jewish state or any other formula that could achieve this goal” at its fifth convention in Ramallah over the weekend. “The Council also renews its refusal for the establishment of any racist state based on religion in accordance with international law and human rights conventions,” the council said in a statement issued at the end of the convention (INN, 11/28/10).
Shmuel Trigano: The Open Racism Of The Future State Of Palestine:
The Palestinian Authority is building a racist regime based on the principle of establishing an apartheid between a Palestine untainted by Jewish blood and a mixed State of Israel.
According to the draft constitution of the planned state, Palestine proper would be Arab and Islamic: "This constitution is based on the will of Palestinian-Arab people" (Article 1), "the Palestinian people are a part of the Arab and Islamic nation" (Article 2), "sovereignty belongs to the Palestinian Arab people" (Article 10), "the legal character of the Arab-Palestinian people will be embodied by the state" (Article 13), "Islam will be the official religion of the state" (Article 6).
Canada boycotts Durban III, cites anti-Israel focus:
Taking a stance: Canada will not attend UN conference on racism because of negative focus on Israel,
Minister of immigration Jason Kenney says; Ottawa has lost faith in Durban process, whose agenda promotes racism, he says. "Canada is clearly committed to the fight against racism, but the Durban process commemorates an agenda that actually promotes racism rather than combats it." (Ynet News, 11.25.10).
Jews are not a race, but rather a people of all races - gathered out of all the nations (Ezekiel 38:7-12) - living according to the instructions of the Torah (Judaism).
Holland Likely to Pass Ban on Kosher Ritual Slaughter: Holland appears set to enact a ban this week on shechita, the practice of kosher ritual slaughter.
Despite an appeal to Prime Minister Mark Rutte and protests from Jewish groups, a proposed ban on the practice is likely to pass in the Dutch parliament, according to a report in the European Jewish Press.
European Jewish Congress (EJC) President Moshe Kantor wrote in a letter to the Dutch prime minister ahead of the vote, that the bill would violate Article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights – the right to freedom of religious practice (INN, 04/10/11).
US Black Students Demand Arabs Stop Calling Israel Apartheid:
The African-American student organization Vanguard Leadership Group is standing with Israel when it comes to use of the term “apartheid.” The term is “false and deeply offensive” when applied to Israel, the group said. The Vanguard Leadership Group spoke out in response to “apartheid” claims from the group Students for Justice in Palestine.
Under an ad titled, “Words matter,” the group said, “We request that you immediately stop referring to Israel as an apartheid society and to acknowledge that the Arab minority in Israel enjoys full citizenship with voting rights and representation in the government.” “It is highly objectionable to those who know the truth about the Israelis' record on human rights and how it so clearly contrasts with South Africa's,” the group said.
Students for Justice in Palestine “has chosen to manipulate rather than inform with this illegitimate analogy,” Vanguard Leadership said. “Decency, justice, and the hope of peace and reconciliation in the Middle East compel us to demand an immediate cessation to the deliberate mischaracterizations of Israel.” Ceasing use of the term “apartheid” when discussing Israel would be a “first step toward raising the level of discourse,” the letter concluded... (INN, 04/10/11).
PA Incitement against Israel On the Rise:
PA media continued to incite against Israel even as PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for direct negotiations. PA leaders have not only allowed incitement to continue in mosques and on television, but have actively incited against Israel themselves. Individual ministers and the PA as a whole have praised deceased terrorists who murdered Israeli civilians.
Passover 'Gift' Honors Park Hotel Massacre Terrorist:
The Palestinian Authority, which insists it does not incite for violence against Israel, has offered a grisly reminder of the 2002 massacre of Jews at a Passover Seder by honoring the terrorist who carried out the murders as Jews around the world begin celebrating Passover next week.
The suicide bomb attack at the Park Hotel in Netanya on March 27, 2002 killed 30 people, most of them elderly Jews, and wounded dozens of others.
Issa Karake, the Palestinian Authority Minister of Prisoners' Affairs, visited the family of Hamas suicide-bomb mastermind Abbas Al-Sayed, awarding them with an official, festive plaque, in celebration of the anniversary of the massacre. Israel’s Foreign Ministry noted that the award was delivered “despite an often-voiced Palestinian commitment to end the glorification of terrorists and incitement to violence (INN, 04/10/11).
PA Promises of Peace, Reality of Hate:
The Palestinian Authority is not preparing its people for peace, despite claims in English by Chairman and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas that he will “work against incitement of any sort.”
PA Threatens More Hands-On Jerusalem Activity:
PA prime minister Salam Fayyad announces that not just in words, but also in actions, Jerusalem will be the “eternal capital of Palestine.” In his most recent weekly radio speech, Fayyad announced that the Palestinian Authority provides, and will increasingly provide, municipal services in “all spheres” in Jerusalem. The city will be the “eternal capital of Palestine," he stated. Fayyad thus continues his campaign to focus on Jerusalem as the capital of what he hopes will be the future Arab-Muslim state of Palestine.
Official PA activity in Jerusalem, such as maintaining headquarters, funding schools, paving roads and providing municipal services, is outlawed under the Oslo Accords.
Article XVII of the 1995 Israeli-Palestinian Interim Agreement on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, also known as Oslo II, states that Israel retains full control of Jerusalem in all administrative and other areas, and bars the PA from exercising any authority or conducting any official activity in the city.
“Israel’s policies and decisions regarding Jerusalem will not change the fact that eastern Jerusalem is occupied Palestinian land," Fayyad told his radio audience, "which will be the eternal capital of Palestine.”
Arab Villagers Declare 'Jews Out!'
Kochav Segal HaLevi, a Jewish security guard, legally bought a house in the mixed Muslim-Christian Arab village of Ibillin in northern Israel, east of Haifa. Upon moving in, however, he discovered that the locals are unwilling to let Jews live there. It is a well known fact in Israel that Jews who try to live in Arab villages risk their lives, while Arabs live freely in Jewish neighborhoods.
Bill Wants Anti-Racist Law to Include Hareidim and Settlers:
The law allows for indictments against any one who makes racist remarks against ethnic groups or against people in a particular neighborhood or city.
Obama reiterated that no settlement expansion also includes “natural growth,” Obama said that the peace process would require a freeze on settling Judea and Samaria, including expansion to accommodate successive generations of Jews living there,.." (Obama Takes on Israel with 'Tough Love' INN, 06/02/09).
Imam Charged with Inciting Nazareth Muslims to Terror, Murder:
Imam Nazzem Abu-Salim of Nazareth has been charged with incitement in the case of a Nazareth terror cell linked to a 2009 murder and to other violent attacks. Salim, of the Shihab A-Din Mosque, is accused of incitement to murder. In addition to murdering Weinstein, the Nazareth terrorist cell inspired by Salim targeted Jews and Christians on several other occasions. Members of the cell are accused of brutal beatings, stabbings, arson and firebomb attacks.
Al-Qaeda in Iraq: 'All Christians are Legitimate Targets'
Christians across the Middle East were put on notice Wednesday by the Islamic State of Iraq – better known as the Iraqi branch of the international al-Qaeda terrorist group – that they are now “legitimate targets.”
The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, the leader of the Palestinian Arabs at the time of the II World War, was Hitler's special consultant on the "Jewish Problem" in the Middle East.
It would be incorrect to say that the Palestinians didn't have anything to do with the Holocaust.
Who was the Grand Mufti, Haj Muhammed Amin al-Husseini?
Al-Husseini represented newly emerging proponents of militant, Palestinian Arab nationalism, a previously unknown concept. Once he was in power, he began a campaign of terror and intimidation against anyone opposed to his rule and policies. He killed Jews at every opportunity, but also eliminated Arabs who did not support his campaign of violence. Husseini was not willing to negotiate or make any kind of compromise for the sake of peace.
The Arab/Muslim Nazi Connection:
Here is a brief review of that dark, overlooked chapter in history.
The Expulsion of the Jews from Muslim Countries, 1920-1970: A History of Ongoing Cruelty and Discrimination
- Shmuel Trigano (Institute for Global Jewish Affairs). Between 1920 and 1970, 900,000 Jews were expelled from Arab and other Muslim countries. Today, they and their descendents form the majority of the French Jewish community and a large part of Israel's population.
In the countries that expelled Jews, a combination of six legal, economic, and political measures aimed at isolating Jews in society was instituted: denationalization; legal discrimination; isolation and sequestration; economic despoilment; socioeconomic discrimination; and pogroms or similar acts. While some say that Zionism was responsible for this development, the region's anti-Semitism would have developed even without the rise of the State of Israel because of Arab-Islamic nationalism, which resulted in xenophobia.
Our World: What the PA buys with American money
: In funding the Palestinian Authority, the US contravenes its own laws; most aid to the PA has has gone to propping up Fayyad.
Two weeks ago, a Palestinian from Bethlehem was arrested by the U.S.-financed and trained Palestinian Authority security forces, charged with "carrying out commercial transactions with residents of a hostile state." His crime was purchasing wood products from an Israeli community located beyond the 1949 armistice lines.
His arrest is part of U.S.-supported Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad's project to ban all economic contact between Palestinians and Jews who live and work beyond the 1949 armistice lines. Fayyad's measures come on top of previously enacted PA measures like imposing the death penalty on Palestinians who sell land to Jews.
According to the Congressional Research Service, the PA is the largest recipient of foreign assistance in the world. According to Bloomberg, it received $1.2 billion in 2009 and will receive $1.8 billion by the end of the year.
PA 'Moderate' Erekat Praised Ze'evi Assassination Mastermind: Saeb Erekat, a Palestinian Authority negotiator whom Israeli leftists often depict as a moderate voice, recently sent a letter of praise to the terrorist who planned the assassination of Israeli minister Rechavam Ze'evi in 2001. Erekat warmly addressed Sa'adat, the head of the PFLP terror group who is serving a 30 year sentence in an Israeli jail, as “my dear brother,” adding that he was writing him “in order to express the strongest emotions of solidarity and brotherhood.” “The occupation is carrying out a policy of defeat and humiliation towards you [prisoners] by canceling your accomplishments,” Erekat went on. “You exhibited steadfast resistance that has become the stuff of legend, during which many martyrs fell.” (INN, 11/07/10).

1 Kings 8:33,37-40 King Solomon's prayer teaches that it is our own sins of transgressing the Torah, that cause our enemies to strike us, and that we must repent and pray for salvation. "When Your people Israel are struck down before the enemy, because they sin against You, and shall turn again to You, and praise Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this house... If there be famine in the land, if there be pestilence, blasting, yellowing, locust, (or) if there be destroying locusts; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities, whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness (there be)."

"Any prayer, any supplication, which will be (made) by any man, (or) by all Your people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house.
And You shall hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart You know, for You, alone, know the hearts of all the children of men.
That they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You gave to our fathers."
Just before his death, Moshe gave the people a chilling prophecy of the curses that would befall them if they spurned God and the Torah. Deuteronomy 28:38-40 "You will take much seed out to the field, yet you will gather in little, for the locusts will finish it.
You will plant vineyards and work [them], but you will neither drink of [their] wine, or gather [the grapes], because the worms will devour them.
You will have olive trees throughout all your boundaries, but you will not anoint with [their] oil, because your olive trees will drop off."
Arabs Chop Down Olive Trees at Netzer:
A gang of 12 Arabs was discovered Friday chopping down olive trees that were planted last week in the Jewish Judean community of Netzer (INN).
Palestinians Sawed Olive Trees in Order to Accuse Settlers: Arabs have been documented cutting down Palestinian olive trees using an electric saw in order to falsely accuse Israelis of vandalism, the Tazpit organization said Saturday. Many incidents allegedly targeting Palestinians in the last few weeks were said to be staged by the Palestinians themselves in order to harm the image of Israeli settlers. Tazpit director Amotz Eyal said that "during every olive harvest season, just like this one, there are many cases of Arab farmers cutting down olive branches, later blaming it on the settlers" (Ynet News).
Israeli Reporter's Car Stoning has Kafkaesque Aftermath:
Well-known Israeli investigative reporter for the Maariv Hebrew daily, Kalman Liebskind, had a Kafkaesque story to report this week, and the subject of the article was himself.
“Driving down the road that leads to our home in Gimzu, I heard the first bang”, he wrote in Hebrew in his weekly column. “ My wife, Ilana, who was driving behind me with some of our children, had gotten a direct hit to the front window of her car. By some miracle, the window didn’t shatter, but the rock hit the part of the window that was a little over a foot from my son’s head. I could hardly believe it was true. Rocks? On our road? An asteroid hitting us seemed more probable than rock throwing 100 yards from our home...”
He had found himself in a situtation that has happened often to residents of Judea and Samaria, who often find themselves falsely accused in the mainstream media, including the newspaper for which Liebeskind works, of crimes perpetrated by Arabs, from stealing and destroying olive trees to
and throwing rocks (INN, 03/27/11).
Malachi 3:8-10 "Will a man rob God? Yet ye rob Me. But ye say: 'Wherein have we robbed Thee?' In tithes and heave-offerings (terumah-levy).
Ye are cursed with the curse (Leviticus 26, Deut. 28, 11:26-28, Isaiah 24:1-6),
yet ye rob Me, even this whole nation.
Bring ye the whole tithe into the store-house, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall be more than sufficiency.
And I will rebuke the devourer (the Arabs and their fellows in crime) for your good, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your land; neither shall your vine cast its fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts."
Providing proper support for Israel's spiritual ministers and Torah scholars is the very key to national as well as international prosperity (Isaiah 24:1-6).
MK Katz: Anarchists Filmed Burning Olive Trees also Burned Mosque:
Foreign anarchists and Palestinian Authority Arabs were caught on film Sunday setting fire to a wooded area outside the Jewish town of Bat Ayin, in the Etzion Bloc (Gush Etzion) between Jerusalem and Hevron. Bat Ayin is three minutes from Alon Shvut and the Har Etzion Hesder Yeshiva. The fire damaged many plants, including olive trees.
Residents who witnessed the incident said they believe the group was planning to blame the arson attack on the Jews of Bat Ayin. The MK claimed that law enforcement agencies have known for two years that those who really uprooted trees, burned mosques, wrote grafitti and burned volumes of the Koran were not Jews, but rather anarchists, radical leftists and Arabs who succeeded in their plan to have the blame fall on Israel's most idealistic citizens, those Jews who live in its Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria. They enjoyed full cooperation of Israel's law enforcement agencies who did not look for the real perpetrators, having decided without question that Jews had done the deeds.
MK Katz demanded that the Prime Minister form an investigative committee that will show the truth and make the police and other law enforcement agencies explain their joint policy that besmirched the reputations of the 350,000 residents of Yesha.

For the first time in recent history, Egypt has decided to completely bar Jews from visiting the tomb of Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira, head of the dynasty that included Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, the famed “Baba Sali.”
The decision, issued by regional ruler Mukhtar el-Hamlawi, was reported by the Palestinian Authority news agency Wafa.El-Hamlawi reported that a Cairo court had ruled that celebrations are forbidden at the tomb, and Jewish visitors would be barred for that reason. In addition, he said, “We prohibit Jews from visiting the tomb because we identify with the Palestinian people, and because we do not want to offend the Egyptian public’s sensitivities.”
