It is God who has appointed...
all of the world leaders of today, and He alone decides whom to raise up and whom to bring down. To teach Nebuchadnezzar his lesson and humble his arrogant heart, he was to be literally cast down from his kingship and transformed into a beast living wild with the animals eating grass and moistened with dew. (Rabbi Avraham Greenbaum, Daniel Ch. 4).

The contemporary relevance of the present prophecy about Nebuchadnezzar's fall may become clearer if we reflect that Saddam Hussein of Iraq – who is known to have considered himself the reincarnation of Nebuchadnezzar – also met a highly ignominious end... following his capture while hiding like an animal in an underground pit (Rabbi Avraham Greenbaum, Isaiah Ch. 14).

Daniel 3:1,4-6 "Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits; he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon." And the herald cried aloud: 'To you it is commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages, that at what time ye hear the sound of the horn, pipe, harp, trigon, psaltery, bagpipe, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up; and whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace."

It seems also as if Nebuchadnezzar wanted to establish a new world religion. And all the peoples bowed down, including all the Judean exiles except for Chananya, Mishael and Azariah, who were cast into the fiery furnace.

Genesis 24:10 calls the region of Haran, Aram-Naharaim, lit., Aram of the pair of rivers. The country was so called because it was situated between two rivers, the Euphrates and the Tigris (Rashi).  See also Genesis 27:43, Deut. 23:5. Aram-Naharaim includes Ur Kasdim, where Abraham’s father was born. "Ur" actually means "fire." Hence, the name of the city properly understood was "fire of Kasdim" which refers to the fiery pit that Abraham was thrown into, but saved (Rashi - Genesis 11:28).
Nimrod was a powerful king of Shinar (Babylon) referenced in Genesis 10:8-10. According to the Midrash, he deified himself and cast Abraham into a fiery furnace when he refused to renounce his faith in monotheism. Abraham was miraculously saved - FOR GOD WAS WITH HIM! Also according to the Midrash, he was Amraphel, one of the four kings whom Abraham battled (Genesis 14).

VIDEO: One Brave Young Man in the Lion's Den: 16-yr old "Daniel" confronts lion's den of haters to stand for the honor of Israel

Daniel Ch. 6: Having failed to find anything incriminating in Daniel's personal conduct, these prototypical anti-Semites decided to catch him out on religious grounds by instituting a new personality-cult religion based on emperor worship that predated Roman emperor worship and Christianity by about four hundred years. The satraps and presidents of Medea legislated a new political correctness that forbade anybody to pray to any other god except the emperor.

Quite unfazed, Daniel continued the life of prayer that he had always followed both in his childhood in Jerusalem and ever since he went into exile. Three times a day he would face in the direction of the place of the Temple in Jerusalem , kneeling down to bless, pray and give thanks to God.

After Daniel was caught praying to the true God and thereby contravening the new law of Persia and Medea that gave the emperor a monopoly on receiving worship, even King Darius was unable to rescue his wise and beloved favorite from being thrown into the lions' den. Beside himself with worry, Darius could not bring himself to eat or sleep and rose with the first light of morning full of foreboding – only to find that Daniel was alive and well, sitting among the peaceful, entranced lions, whose mouths had been closed by God's angel.

This miracle was another tremendous SANCTIFICATION OF GOD'S NAME that lives on in a story that has been told and retold from generation to generation. The righteous were redeemed while the wicked slanderers who tried to denounce Daniel got their just deserts and suffered the very penalty they tried to inflict on him, being torn to pieces by the lions..." (Rabbi Avraham Greenbaum).

King David is also using an animal motif - the lion - to describe his pursuers and tormentors. (See below: Why Didn't The Red Ribbon on the Head of the Scapegoat Turn White in 30 C.E.?).

"And David said... "Thy servant kept his father's sheep; and when there came a lion, or a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth; and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.
Thy servant smote both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath taunted the armies of the living God.'

Then said David to the Philistine: 'Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a javelin, but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts (YHVH TZ'VAOT), the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast taunted" (1 Samuel 17:34-36,45).

The original meaning of "tz’vaot" may be found in 1 Sam. 17:45, interpreted as denoting: "the God of the armies of Israel." The word, apart from this special use, always means "armies or hosts of men." Tz'va Hagana l'Israel = TZAHAL Singular: "tzava" / army/legion. Plural: "tzvaot" / armies/legions.

"even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the host of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt. It was a night of watching unto the LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt; this same night is a night of watching unto the LORD for all the children of Israel throughout their generations" (Exodus 12:41-42, 7:4, 6:26).

Isaiah 43: 2-3: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;.."   The "waters" refer to the Red Sea (Targum, Rashi). Just as God split the waters of the sea in order to save Israel from the Egyptians, so He will save them from the "fire" in time to come. "Is not My word like as fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?" (Jeremiah 23:29, 5:14).

"In those days and at that time, says the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought, but it shall not be there, and the sins of Judah, but they shall not be found, for I will forgive those I leave over" (Jeremiah 50:20, 31:30-36). These verses prophesies the ultimate cleansing of Israel and Judah from all sin at the end of days. The great cleansing process: Ezekiel 22:18-22, Ch. 36, Isaiah 1:16-31, 30:33, 31:4-9, Zechariah 13:8-9, Malachi 3:1-7. "Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have tried thee in the furnace of affliction..." (Isaiah 48:10).

"For You tested us, O God (with distress in the exile); You refined us as though refining silver (to remove the dross, sin, from us when we repent before You, as they refine silver to remove its dross). You brought us into a trap; You placed a chain on our loins. You caused man (the kings of all heathen nations) to ride at our head; we came in fire and water, and You took us out to satiety" (Psalm 66:12, see also 60:3-7, Ch. 44, 11:6). "But you hath the LORD taken and brought forth out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt (slavery, idolatry, Hosea 11:1-4, Joshua Ch. 24), to be unto Him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day" (Deut. 4:20, 7:6-8, 14:1-2, 1 Kings 8:22-53).

Throughout Isaiah Ch. 14 and the preceding chapter, the prophet foretells the rise and fall of this arrogant king who would use his unbridled power to plunder Jerusalem and destroy its Temple but, at the end, would suffer a cataclysmic downfall (Rabbi Tovia Singer).

Who Is Satan? " And the LORD raised up an adversary (Hebrew: satan) unto Solomon, Hadad the Edomite, he was of the king's seed in Edom. And God raised up another adversary (satan) unto him, Rezon the son of Eliada, And he was an adversary (satan) to Israel all the days of Solomon,.." (1 Kings 11:14,23,25, Num. 22:22-23). God sent adversaries to test the House of David; "so that when he (Solomon) goes astray (from the Torah) I will chasten him with the rod of men (This refers to Hadad and Rezon the son of Elyada), and with the stripes of the sons of Adam" (II Samuel 7:14, Psalm 89:31-33).

Hamas reiterates goal of world domination by Islam - annihilation of Israel-establishment of Caliphate in Jerusalem

It is the Wakf Islamic Authority that administers the mosques built atop Judaism’s holiest site.

Jordanian Media on 'Alleged' Temple: Petra, the official news agency of the the Jordanian government, recently published a report accusing Israel of “Judaizing” Jerusalem and casting doubt on Jewish history in the Land of Israel. The Petra report was noted by the Independent Media Review Analysis (IMRA), which expressed concern over the harsh language and the denial of the Holy Temple, noting the possibility that it reflects the views of the Jordanian government.

IMRA contacted Petra, which replied that it did not speak in the name of the government, but noted that Jordanian media have always used the term “alleged” to refer to the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. “All followers of Islam” question the existence of the Temples, a Petra worker stated.

Now, let us examine this, and have a look at what is said in the Quran: Surat Al-'Isra' 17:1 "Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing" (Sahih International).

Tafsir al-Jalalayn: "Glory be to Him Who carried His servant, Muhammad, by night from the Sacred Mosque, that is, Mecca, to the Farthest Mosque, the Holy House of Jerusalem... For he [the Prophet] said: ‘I was brought al-Buraq, a white animal, larger than a donkey but smaller than a mule; it was able to place its hoof [back] towards its extremity and so I mounted it. It set off carrying me until I reached the Holy House [of Jerusalem]

"In 715, to build up the prestige of their dominions, the Ommaid caliphs concocted a masterstroke: they built a second mosque in Jerusalem, again on the Temple Mount, and called this one the Furthest Mosque (al-masjid al-aqsa, or Al-Aqsa Mosque), from a passage of the Qur'an (17:1) describing the Prophet Mohammed's Night Journey to heaven (isra'). With this, the Ommaids retroactively gave Jerusalem a role in Mohammed's life, a role that was entirely fictional since Mohammed never visited Jerusalem, died in 632, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque was not built until 715, eighty-three years after his death.

This association of Jerusalem with al-masjid al-aqsa fit into a wider Muslim tendency to identify place names found in the Qur'an with locations they coveted, and then to claim it and build a mosque to replace whatever was there before." Jordan: The Western Wall Is Muslim : A senior official at the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs explained on Monday that "Jordan and Palestine share the same goal: to preserve Al Haram Al Sharif [the Noble Sanctuary, Dome of the Rock) known in Judaism as the Temple Mount] and all its facilities, plazas, gates and walls for the Muslim nation."

He stressed that the Mughrabi Gate is "a holy entrance to Al Haram Al Sharif as it is situated in the Buraq area where the Prophet Mohammad tethered his steed for Al Israa' wal Miraaj" [Muhammad travels on the steed Buraq to "the farthest mosque" where he ascends to heaven]. "The Mughrabi Gate, its pathway and the Buraq/Western Wall are indivisible parts of Al Haram Al Sharif which is an Islamic Waqf that Israel must respect" (Jordan Times).

New Theory on When Western Wall Was Built: The discovery of a new ritual pool under the Western Wall suggests a new theory that the Kotel was completed later than thought... (INN, 11/23/2011).

Arab Group: Kotel Belongs to Islam: An Arab organization proclaimed that Israel's plans to expand the prayer area for women at the Kotel was “very dangerous.” According to Islamic lore, the Kotel is known as “Al-Buraq,” the place where Muhammad tied up his donkey when he ascended to heaven from the site of the Beit Hamikdash, the Jewish Temple on the Mount (INN, 12/3/2011).

"Sheikh Ikrema Sabri, the former mufti of Jerusalem, is helping us to illustrate this truth; he told the Jerusalem Post that the temples of Solomon and Herod never existed. "There was never a Jewish temple on al-Aqsa, and there is no proof that there was ever a temple," Sabri said. "Because Allah is fair, he would not agree to make al-Aqsa if there were a temple there for others beforehand." "The wall is not part of the Jewish temple. It is just the western wall of the mosque," he said. "There is not a single stone with any relation at all to the history of the Hebrews" (Temple Mount discovery leads to dispute in Jerusalem, San Francisco Chronicle, Nov. 18, 2007

). Sabri is here making the Quran and other Islamic writings a blatant lie!

"The Great Mosque (Jamaa al-Akbar) in Gaza City, makes up for its lacklustre appearance with an interesting history: it's a converted Crusader church built on the site of a Hellenic temple - with pillars from a 3rd-century Jewish synagogue (Wikitravel).

What happened at Joseph's Tomb in October 2000? "In the early days of the al-Aqsa intifada, on the morning of October 7, 2000, Israel withdrew the small contingent of IDF border policemen who had been guarding the site of the Tomb of the Patriarch Joseph and its Yeshiva. The holy site was located in Shechem in Samaria, the town the Arabs call "Nablus"... About two hours after the Israeli evacuation, a Palestinian Arab mob entered the Tomb compound and began to systematically destroy everything in sight, including all remnants of the Yeshiva. The furniture and books that were left behind were burned by the mob... Within hours, Joseph's Tomb was reduced to a smoldering heap of rubble. Within two days, as an Associated Press dispatch reported, "the dome of the tomb was painted green and bulldozers were seen clearing the surrounding area," as the Palestinian Arabs sought to transform the biblical Joseph's resting place into a Moslem holy site."

The Book of Joshua (24:32) states explicitly: The bones of Joseph which the Children of Israel brought up from Egypt were buried in Shechem in the portion of the field that had been purchased by Jacob. (See also
Gen. 33:19, 48:21-22, 50:24-25). ( From were he was kidnapped (Gen. 37) he was brought back.

Front Page Magazine interviews Prof. Khaleel Mohammed, Assistant Professor at the Department of Religious Studies at San Diego University. You say that when the Muslims entered the sacred land in the seventh century, "they aided and abetted in a crime." Can you expand on this a bit?

Prof. Khaleel Mohammed: " How did the Jews lose their right to live in the Holy Land ? All reliable reports show that it was by the looting and burning that followed from 70-135 C.E.  When the  Muslims  entered  the  place in  638, liberating it from the Byzantines,  they  knew full  well to whom  it rightfully belonged.  But we find that  Muslim chroniclers state that  the Muslim  caliph  accepting  the  surrender of  the  Byzantine Christian representative, Sophronius, on certain  terms, one of them being that the Jews would not be permitted to enter the city.  I personally have a hard time accepting this story, and  aspects of  its historicity because as  modern scholarship  has shown,  Muslim reports about that time were  recorded long after the fact and  are not  as reliable as once thought.  And we know too that when the first Crusaders took possession of the place in 1096-1099, they slaughtered Jews and Muslims. If Umar had indeed signed such a treaty, what were Jews doing there?

By aiding and abetting in a crime, I refer to when Abdul Malik built the mosque there, and had false traditions ascribed to Muhammad wherein the Prophet is supposed to have said that a man should set out for a journey only for three mosques, the ones in
Mecca , Medina and Jerusalem . Now how could the prophet have said this when ALL Muslims agree that when the Qur’an states "this day I have completed for you your religion" (Q5:3), that Jerusalem was not within Muslim geography? The completion means just that...with the Arabic Qur'an for the Arab peoples, and the aspect of conquest of foreign territory NOT an injunction of Qur’anic Islam.

When the Muslims conquered Jerusalem , it should have been left open for the rightful owners to return. It is possible that Jewish beliefs of the time only allowed such return under a Messiah--but that should not have influenced Muslim action. And in contrast to the report of Sophronius above, there are also reports showing that Umar in fact opened the city to the Jews. If this be the case, then the later Muslim occupation and building a mosque on the site of the Temple was something that was not sanctioned by The Qur’an. How honest is contemporary Islam with this? Given the situation in the Middle East , politiking etc stands in the way of honesty." (The Koran and the Jews By Jamie Glazov,

Quran, Al-Isra; Surah 17:103-104 "So he (Pharaoh) resolved to remove them (Moses and his people) from the face of the earth: but We did drown him and all who were with him. And We said thereafter to the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely in the land (of promise)": but when the second of the warnings came to pass, We gathered you together in a mingled crowd. (YUSUFALI).

Qur'an, Al-Isra; Surah 17:7 "If ye did well, ye did well for yourselves; if ye did evil, (ye did it) against yourselves. So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies, Titus and his army) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they (Nebuchadnezzar) had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power. (YUSUFALI). Muslims say that the second doom was due to the rejection of the Message of Jesus, and Titus' destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.C. was complete.

But if ye will not hearken unto Me, and will not do all these commandments; and if ye shall reject My statutes, and if your soul abhor Mine ordinances, so that ye will not do all My commandments, but break My covenant; I also will do this unto you: I will appoint terror over you,.. And I will make your cities a waste, and will bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours."

1 Kings 9:6-9 "
But if you and your children turn away from following Me, and you will not adhere to My commandments and My statutes, which I have placed before you, but go and worship other gods and bow before them. Then I will cut Israel off, from the land which I have given to them, and this house which I have made sacrosanct for My Name will I dismiss from My presence, and Israel shall be for a proverb and a byword among all nations.

And this Temple [which] is exalted, [shall become forlorn] and every passerby shall be astounded and will hiss, and they will say: "Why has the Lord done this to this country and to this Temple?" They will be told, "Because they abandoned the Lord, their God, Who delivered their forefathers out of the Land of Egypt; and took hold of other gods and bowed to them and served them. Therefore, has the Lord brought all this retribution upon them."  See also Deut. 29:23-28, II Chr. 7:19-22, Jer. 22:1-9, Ch. 44, Hosea 4:6, 6:6, Amos 2:4-5. The "second doom" was due to the rejection of the Torah and knowledge of God and not the message of Jesus!

II Kings Ch. 25 "Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem..." II Chr. 36:19-20 "
And they burned the House of God, and they demolished the wall of Jerusalem, and all its palaces they burned with fire, and destroyed all its precious vessels. And he exiled the survivors from the sword to Babylon, and they became vassals to him and to his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia." See also Lamentations 2:1-10.

In Daniel Ch. 9, Daniel begins his prayer with the confession of sin  expressing our deep shame and contrition over the misdemeanors that have led to our national exile. Daniel's prayer is designed to guide us to internalize the bitter lesson and moral of the destruction of the Temple and the exile, which came about exactly as the Torah had warned. See also Nehemiah Ch. 9.

Today in jewish History 25 Adar:This date marks the death of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylonia in 561 BCE. Nebuchadnezzar built the most powerful nation in the world by ruthlessly attacking and annexing neighboring countries. He is sometimes called "Nebuchadnezzar the Great," but he is reviled by Jews for having destroyed the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and exiling the Jews from Israel.

The biblical Book of Daniel tells how Nebuchadnezzar erected a large idol for public worship; three Jews refused to take part and Nebuchadnezzar ordered them cast into a roaring furnace. (They miraculously emerged unscathed.)

Nebuchadnezzar was a megalomaniac who built the Hanging Gardens of Babylon; in testimony to his grandeur, each brick was inscribed with his name. Amazingly, in our time, Saddam Hussein pronounced himself as the reincarnation of Nebuchadnezzar, and dreamed of restoring the Babylonian empire to its former size and glory. Saddam commissioned archaeologists to restore the ancient Hanging Gardens, and each new brick was inscribed with Saddam's name.

The Book of Daniel (4:30) describes the downfall of Nebuchadnezzar: "He loses his sanity and lives in the wild like an animal." And so it was with Saddam -- driven into a grimy hole, disheveled and deposed. (Nebuchadnezzar later regained his sanity and returned to rule.) (Rabbi Shraga Simmons,

Obama Plan: Temple Mount Under Arab-Muslim Sovereignty

Obama Bows to Saudi King, Supports Saudi Initiative The Saudi Plan calls on Israel to cede Gaza and all land east of the 1949 armistice line, including much of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, to the Palestinian Authority. Israel would also be required to cede the strategic Golan Heights region to Syria.

In addition, the plan requires Israel to release all terrorists currently in its prisons, and to offer citizenship to millions of foreign Arabs who say they are descended from Arabs who fled pre-state Israel during the War of Independence. In exchange, Arab states would normalize their ties with the Jewish State.

The Mecca Agreement: "We gladly announce this agreement to the Palestinian masses and to the Arab and Islamic nation and to all our friends in the world. We stress our commitment to this agreement in text and spirit so that we can devote our time to achieve our national goals and get rid of the occupation and regain our rights and devote work to the main dossiers, mainly Jerusalem, refugees, Al-Aqsa mosque, prisoners and detainees and to confront the (West Bank separation) wall and settlements" (Text of Palestinians’ Mecca Agreement, Khaleej Times, 9 February 2007).

PA Arabs to Israel: We'll Take Your State, Please

Nisa 4:29-30 "O People who Believe! Do not unjustly devour the property of each other, except through trade by mutual agreement; and do not kill one another; indeed Allah is Most Merciful upon you. And whoever does that through injustice and oppression, We shall soon put him in the fire; and this is easy for Allah.”

Can a state be built on a pack of lies? It will be very difficult to build an enduring peace on such a structure of lies.

AUDIO: Will the Real Messiah Please Stand Up! A7 Radio's "Noahide Nations" with Noahide Nations

Without the virginbirth of Jesus as its cornerstone, Christianity would not have survived. The Muslims also recognize the "virgin birth," Surah 3:45-47.

Sahih International: Surat Maryam 19:20-21 "She (Maryam) said, "How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?
He said, "Thus it will be; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter already decreed."

Tafsir al-Jalalayn: "He said, ‘It, the matter in question, of creating a boy from you without a father, shall be so! Your Lord has said: “It is easy for Me, in other words, by Gabriel’s breathing into you, by My command, so that you become pregnant with him, since what has been mentioned is meant as a reason, the following statement is added as a supplement thereto: and so that We may make him a sign for mankind, of Our power, and a mercy from Us, to whoever believes in him. And it, the creation of him, is a thing already decreed”’, according to My knowledge. So Gabriel breathed into the opening of her shirt, whereupon she sensed the formed foetus in her womb."

Does the Hebrew Word Alma Really Mean "Virgin"?  For nearly two millennia the church has insisted that the Hebrew word alma can only mean “virgin.”  The church must hold this position because Matthew 1:22-23 translates alma in Isaiah 7:14 as “virgin.”  The first Gospel quotes this well-known verse to provide the only “Old Testament” proof text for the supposed virgin birth of Jesus.  The stakes are high for Christendom, because if the Hebrew word alma does not mean virgin, Matthew is misquoting the prophet Isaiah, and both a key tenet of Christianity and the credibility of the first Gospel collapses.

"In the end they (the Jews) will face the Messiah they had rejected, and whose crucifixion they had demanded" (Imran Nazar Hosein, Gog and Magog in the Quran).

The Jews murdered Jesus, this ancient Christian accusation has become standard in Arab antisemitic discourse. One example: Arafat advisor Bassam Abu Sharif referred in the Saudi London-based daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat (London, March 20, 2002) to the statue of the Virgin Mary damaged by Israeli fire during the siege of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. He wrote, "The sad smile of the Virgin Mary as she shields her son the Messiah did not prevent the soldiers of the Israeli occupation from taking up positions to shoot at the face of this Palestinian angel [i.e. Jesus] and murder the smile… so as to murder what they hadn't managed to murder throughout 2,000 years.

In Bethlehem, a new crime was committed. This, of course, was a failed attempt to murder peace, love, and tolerance, just as their forefathers tried to murder the prophetic message when they hammered their nails and iron stakes through the body of the Messiah into the wooden cross."

Calling the Jews Christ-killers in anti-Jewish Arab propaganda is particularly ironic, because according to Islamic belief, Jesus did not die on the cross, and the Christians are distorting the truth" (What Is Arab Antisemitism?, MEMRI, February 27, 2004).

Now, let's have a look at how Christian translators, committed to paint Jesus in the so-called "Old Testament" - are distorting the truth: Zechariah 12:10 NKJ "And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me (Jesus) whom they (the Jews) pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn."

Zechariah 12:10 The Complete Jewish Bible: "And I will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplications. And they shall look to Me because of those (all the Jews) who have been thrust through [with swords], and they shall mourn over it as one mourns over an only son and shall be in bitterness, therefore, as one is embittered over a firstborn son." "
They will look to God and mourn over those of them that were killed by the nations during their exile" (Rashi). It is noteworthy that awareness of and mourning over the Holocaust have been a key theme in Jewish culture in our times (Succah 52a).

Matthew 20:19 says: "deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify." Mark 10:33-34 says: "and they (the Gentiles) will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him."  How ironic, therefore, that Jews have historically been associated with the cross as the ones who brought about Jesus'' crucifixion!

To understand the extent and the manner in which the church tampered with the Jewish scriptures, let's examine the verse that Christians insist "proves" that Jesus is the messiah. Psalm 22:16 in the  KJV reads: "Dogs have compassed me; the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me; they pierced my hands and my feet."

To understand how Christian translators rewrote the words of King David, let's examine the original Hebrew words of this verse with a proper translation which reads: Psalm 22:17 "Dogs have encompassed me. A company of evildoers has enclosed me; like a lion, they are at my hands and my feet."

Notice that when the original words of the Psalmist are read, any allusion to a crucifixion disappears.  The insertion of the word "pierced" into the last clause of this verse is a not-too-ingenious Christian interpolation that was created by deliberately mistranslating the Hebrew word kaari as "pierced."  The word kaari, however, does not mean "pierced," it means "like a lion."  The end of Psalm 22:17, therefore, properly reads "like a lion they are at my hands and my feet."  Had King David wished to write the word "pierced," he would never use the Hebrew word kaari.  Instead, he would have written either daqar or ratza, which are common Hebrew words in the Jewish scriptures.  Needless to say, the phrase "they pierced my hands and my feet" is a Christian contrivance that appears nowhere in the Jewish scriptures (Rabbi Tovia Singer).
